The Mets are committed to supporting the development of youth baseball and softball athletes in their local underserved communities. As part of the Sandlot Stars program, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation funds and provides new equipment to youth softball, baseball and tee-ball teams.
During Spring Training, the Mets teamed up with Pitch In For Baseball and Softball to distribute bags of equipment to 35 local little league baseball, softball, and tee-ball teams across the Port St. Lucie area.
Through the program, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation has funded the purchase of equipment for more than 500 teams in New York, New Jersey, Port St. Lucie and the Dominican Republic.
