The Cohen Family Wellness Center will offer behavioral health treatment for young New Yorkers between the ages of 5 and 18.

A facility providing mental health services to children opened its doors in Woodside on Tuesday.

The Cohen Family Wellness Center will offer behavioral health treatment for young New Yorkers between the ages of 5 and 18 on the second floor of The Child Center of NY located at 43-08 52nd St. starting this week.

“The pandemic only exacerbated the struggles of young New Yorkers dealing with the most severe mental health challenges, and the Center is designed to fill that need,” said Traci Donnelly, CEO of the Child Center.

The 10,000 square-foot facility will provide support, from art therapy to counseling, to roughly 700 families each year.

The Child Center of NY treats 43,000 children and families each year at nearly 70 school and other locations.

The center’s main areas include early childhood education, behavioral health, residential treatment, prevention and family support, health homes and integrated care, and youth development.
