Francisco Alvarez Joins AMF in Donating Turkeys Across NYC
The Amazin’ Mets Foundation distributed over 7,500 turkeys ahead of Thanksgiving as part of their ninth annual MetsGiving Turkey Giveaway. Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez joined Mr. & Mrs. Met to help distribute the turkeys at the various community partner locations. Individuals receiving the turkeys were also given a voucher for tickets to a Mets home game in 2024 and a MetsGiving tote bag.
The Foundation funded a $180,000 grant to support this initiative and worked with a total of 15 community partners throughout New York City, including in person distributions at New York Foundling in Staten Island, New York Common Pantry in Manhattan, Part of the Solution in the Bronx, Queens Community Justice Center, and the Alliance for Coney Island in Brooklyn to feed over 61,000 underserved individuals across all five boroughs.
