On Thursday, February 1, the Mets are teaming up with Encore Community Services for a Food Pantry Volunteer Event as part of the Senior Smiles Program. Encore provides care and service to the elderly of New York City communities. They assist elders who are vulnerable to help them with their daily needs so that they may live as independently as possible in a safe and caring environment. Through their On-Site Meals Program, Encore prepares 200+ nutritious and well-balanced meals each day. Volunteers will help serve food, run baseball trivia, distribute giveaways, bus tables and engage with Encore’s elders.
