Senior Smiles

1:00pm

The Mets are dedicated to serving our community and providing resources to people of all ages. Senior Smiles leverages several different components of the Mets’ existing resources and programs to develop a series of events that directly serve the senior citizen community. As part of the Senior Smiles Program, the Mets Community Team will be hosting a baseball-themed painting event with the Carter Burden Network.

Carter Burden Network serves New Yorkers over the age of 60 through various services and programs, including advocacy, arts and culture, health and wellness and volunteer opportunities. The Mets painting event will take place at CBN’s Covello Older Adult Center. Volunteers will help set up, serve baseball-themed snacks and drinks and interact with the participants. Each volunteer will also get to paint their own picture. An art instructor will lead a class where the participants will paint a Mets-themed and baseball themed picture.  They will have baseball themed snacks, music, and decorations.  Mets front office staff will also volunteer to interact with the residents and help them paint.
