New York Mets Announce 2024 MetsGiving Initiatives
Through five events over the holiday season, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation will team up
with over 20 partners with the hopes to impact thousands of community members
across all five boroughs.
FLUSHING, N.Y., November 8 – The New York Mets will once again host their MetsGiving initiatives, a
series of programs in November and December that focus on helping the community during the holiday season, the club announced today. The events include Food and Coat drives, a Turkey Giveaway, a holiday dinner for families in need and a holiday party for kids. There will also be appearances by Mets alumni, mascots, front office staff, corporate partners and fans, all working together to give
back and help those underserved in the community.
Tuesday, November 19 – Annual Food Drive
Mets Team Store at Citi Field – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The Mets are hosting their annual MetsGiving Food Drive in the Mets Team Store at Citi Field on Tuesday, November 19 to benefit Food Bank for New York City. Fans are encouraged to bring all types of canned and packaged goods (no glass containers or perishable foods). The event will feature a special appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Met. Fans who donate at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Monday – Thursday Mets home game in 2025. Fans will be limited to one ticket voucher.
Due to off-season construction at Citi Field, Seaver Way is closed to vehicles. Free parking for the Food Drive will be available in Lot B and Lot D, which can be accessed through Gate 8 at Shea Road and Boat Basin Place. The Mets Team Store is located on the first base side of Citi Field, between the Jackie Robinson Rotunda and the Hodges Entrance. Friday, November 22 – 10th Annual Turkey Giveaway
On November 22, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation will conduct their 10th annual MetsGiving Turkey Giveaway presented by Toyota. They will be distributing more than 8,500 turkeys to those in need before Thanksgiving. The Foundation will partner with a network of 20 community partners across New York
City for the distribution. In-person distributions will take place across all boroughs, featuring locations such as the Queens Community Justice Center, New York Common Pantry in Manhattan, Part of the Solution in the Bronx, Project Hospitality in Staten Island, and Maimonides Park in Brooklyn.
Wednesday, December 11 – 18th Annual Coat Drive
Mets Team Store at Citi Field – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The Mets are teaming up with New York Cares for the 18th Annual Mets Coat Drive, presented by Toyota, on December 11 in the Mets Team Store at Citi Field. Mets personnel, along with New York Cares will collect donations to keep those in need warm during the cold winter months in New York. Fans bringing a new or gently used winter coat will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Monday – Thursday Mets home game in 2025. Fans will be limited to one ticket voucher.

Wednesday, December 18 – Holiday Dinner
The Amazin’ Mets Foundation and Delta Air Lines are teaming up to support Sunnyside Community Services to host a special holiday meal for local families and gifting experience for children. Mets personnel and Delta employees will help serve the meal and bring holiday cheer to those in need.
Thursday, December 19 – Kids Holiday Party.
The Mets will host more than 125 students from Queens for the annual Kids Holiday Party at Citi Field on December 19. Students from local Title 1 schools will enjoy games, lunch and participate in holiday crafts, while also receiving gifts and a special visit from Santa.
