Mets on the Move, presented by the Hospital for Special Surgery, is a fitness program dedicated to keeping kids active and healthy. The program runs throughout the month of May to coincide with National Physical Fitness and Sports month.
Participating students received pedometer watches to track their physical fitness. The more steps they accumulate, the more Mets prizes they can earn.
The Amazin’ Mets Foundation has funded grants to numerous local organizations that offer programs which inspire our youth to stay active and healthy all year round, including New York Edge (to support their Girls L.E.A.D program as well as funding for new gym equipment and athletic gear for after school sports) and Flushing YMCA (to support children in their summer camp program).
Mets front office staff will visit a local school with Mr. Met to get students ready for the upcoming Mets on the Move challenge!
