The New York Mets, in partnership with USA Baseball and Amtrak, have expanded the “Fun At Bat” program across the New York City Tri–State area. Developed by USA Baseball, the “Fun At Bat” program brings young athletes a unique baseball and softball experience. Through this program, kids will be exposed to an introductory level of the game including fielding, throwing and batting, while placing an emphasis on character development, functional movement, literacy, active play and fun.
This free program is available to all underserved schools throughout the New York City Tri–State area (grades K–5). Participating schools will receive quality equipment, USA Baseball Championship Principle books, and other resources. Physical education teachers will also have access to free online courses, which assist in teaching the fundamentals of the program. The New York Mets are encouraging all qualifying K–5 school administrators and physical education teachers to go online, learn more and register their school by visiting Mets.com/FunAtBat.
