2023 ‘Share A Moment With Mom’ Honoree: Jovy Martins
Every Mother’s Day, the New York Mets honor and recognize strong women in the community who have exemplified resilience, selflessness and brought awareness to the fight against breast cancer. The Amazin’ Mets Foundation teamed up with Northwell Health, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and Major League Baseball for the “Share A Moment with Mom” campaign.
This year’s honoree was oncology nurse, Jovy Martins. Jovy is a loving wife and mother of two boys and has been a nurse for more than 23 years, the last 10 years in the oncology department at the RJ Zuckerberg Infusion Center in Lake Success. As a nurse and breast cancer survivor, she has stayed positive and selflessly cared for her patients throughout her journey.
The Amazin’ Mets Foundation invited Jovy and her family to Citi Field prior to the Mets game against the Tampa Bay Rays, where she was honored on-field during a pregame ceremony, attended batting practice where she met Owner and President of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, Alex Cohen, and her favorite players. She was also presented with a customized jersey by Mets Manager Buck Showalter during his pre-game press conference.
