Mets Community Insider: A Look Back at January

Amazin’ Mets Foundation Rolls Out Pilot for CASE Study Program
The Amazin’ Mets Foundation has launched its new pilot program – CASE (Careers as Sports Executives) – for local high school students.
Starting January 14 and continuing over six weeks, sophomores and juniors from Bayside High School who are interested in careers in sports will have the opportunity to connect with executives from various sports industries. This program offers training, hands-on experience, and valuable advice to help students build knowledge and pursue their passions.
At the program’s kick-off event earlier in January, students met with members of the Mets front office and heard from Mets President of Baseball Operations, David Stearns, who shared his journey in the world of baseball.
CASE was founded in 2018 by baseball executives Theo Epstein, Scott Harris, and Meghan Jones.

Winter Blood Drive
New York Mets fans came together to save lives and donate blood at the Mets’ annual Winter Blood Drive held in the Piazza Club at Citi Field. New York Blood Center collected over 860 pints of blood, which will impact more than 2,500 lives.
All donors received a voucher redeemable for two tickets to select Mets home games in 2025.

Senior Smiles Birthday Party
As part of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation’s Senior Smiles program, the Foundation partnered with Heights and Hills in Brooklyn to host a Mets-themed birthday celebration for local older adults with January and February birthdays.
The Foundation provided a grant to Heights and Hills, which supported the organization’s hunger relief programs in 2024 and will continue to support that program into 2025.
Heights and Hills is one of Brooklyn’s largest nonprofit organizations, serving more than 5,000 older adults and their families with a variety of essential services, including social services, caregiver support, volunteer and intergenerational programs, and have a neighborhood hub for active older adults.
